Notably, many organizations may not seek candidates with only hard skills. Candidates with soft skills who can oversee project management and work productively with all stakeholders. These occupations generally depend on having a thorough understanding of the entire plan. Yet, there is still a demand for people with specialized technological skills, such as developers and engineers who design and produce products for internal and external use. Organizations also need someone who can analyze data and offer practical solutions to help with business choices.

Experience, education, geography, and specific work responsibilities will affect the actual wage for a given IT profession. Candidate’s experience, competency, and company size also significantly impact the starting salary.
Location also plays a significant role because IT professionals typically earn more in places with a higher cost of living. Remote work, a necessity for businesses during the Covid-19 Pandemic, is now becoming a recruitment and retention strategy. According to Robert Half’s 2023 Salary Guide, 53% of workers stated that they would rather resign than work full-time and desire to work remotely three days a week on average.
